COAP’s mission is to provide a comprehensive array of evidence-based professional person-centered, individual, group, and family services to address the complex challenges associated with addiction; in order to facilitate the process of recovery, abstinence, stability, and healing. We are committed to fostering recovery while embracing harm reduction principles, meeting individuals where they are in their journey. Our compassionate and inclusive approach ensures that every person—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, or ability—has access to care. We are dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and equitable environment where all individuals can access the resources they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
In addition to individual, group, and family counseling, services include psycho-pharmacological treatment when necessary Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). Random urine screening is also conducted as indicated and medical assessment. Group emphases include but are not limited to: Relapse Prevention; Recovery and Spirituality; Anger Management; Support Adolescent group. Dual Diagnosis; Women’s Issues and Men’s Issues. Vocational Services offered via referral. COAP offers priority admission status to parenting persons and persons who inject drugs. COAP provides harm reduction and Overdose Prevention education which includes a Free Naloxone Kit: an Opioid overdose reversal medication. Free Fentenyl and Xylene strips to test the presence of Fentanyl and Xylene in drug samples prior to ingestion. The harm reduction strategies are used to minimize negative consequences of substance use and reduction of stigma related to substance use. The program is staffed by experienced, culturally competent clinicians who offer services in both English and Spanish. COAP’s interdisciplinary team includes licensed Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, CASACs, Mental Health Counselors, Peer Advocate and Registered Nurses.
COAP accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most Medicaid managed care and commercial insurance plans. Also, in addition to a self-pay sliding scale, COAP receives deficit funding from NYS OASAS, as well as the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) to enable it to serve uninsured clients.
COAP is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 9:30 pm.
Currently, COAP counts with Gamblers Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous groups in both English and Spanish. See schedule below.
