Comprehensive Outpatient Addiction Program (COAP)

COAP is a NYS OASAS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Service (NYS OASAS) licensed Part #822, medically supervised outpatient chemical dependency clinic serving adults and adolescents in need of substance abuse treatment, as well as significant others of substance abusers, who may or may not be in recovery (families, adults, adolescents, children).

COAP’S mission is to provide a comprehensive array of professional person-centered, individual, group, and family services to address the myriad number of problems associated with the scourge of addiction. In order to facilitate the process of recovery, abstinence, stability, and healing.

In addition to individual, group, and family counseling services, peer services and psycho-pharmacological treatment is provided when necessary. Random urine screening, is conducted as needed as part of medical assessment. Group emphases include but is not limited to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), Relapse Prevention, Recovery and Spirituality; Anger Management, Support Adolescent Group, Dual Diagnosis, Women’s issues and Men’s Issues, Vocational Services offered via referral. COAP offers priority admission status to pregnant and parenting persons and persons who inject drugs. COAP provides harm reduction and Overdose Prevention education which includes a Free Naloxone Kit: an Opioid overdose reversal medication.

Transportation Assistance via MetroCard is provided to eligible clients.

The program is staffed by experienced, culturally competent clinicians who offer services in both English and Spanish. COAP’s interdisciplinary team includes Licensed Psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, CASAC’s, Mental Health Counselors, Peer Advocate, and Registered Nurses.

COAP accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most Medicaid managed care and commercial insurance plans. Also, in addition to a self-pay sliding scale, COAP receives deficit funding from NYS OASAS, as well as the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) to enable it to serve uninsured clients, providing free services.

COAP is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM.

***There is a 12 step Narcotic Anonymous (NA) meeting in Spanish on Fridays at 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM on site ***
